Visualization 1 Studio
IND 502
Co-requisite IND 652
Course Description
"Nothing is more powerful for the designer than their ability to visualize what they are able to imagine before it exists; to simulate the reality of a new idea and share it with others through understanding how they perceive reality"
The
central purpose of this course is to provide students with a thorough
understanding of key foundation theories for visual perception and
communication. Students gain practical experience in applying these theories to
create professional level sketches, drawings and digital renderings. The
Visualization 1 Studio will focus on the study of perspective and lighting for
primary, secondary and complex matte and reflective forms. Individual
assignments will involve the use of traditional analog drawing tools and the creation of presentation illustrations
developed with applications such as Adobe
Photoshop and Creative Suite. The co-
requisite class section Visualization 3D Lab IND 652 is held in the computer
Labs and effectively serves as studio time to learn digital applications and
execute weekly rendering assignments.
Class Emphasis
The
class will involve weekly and bi-weekly projects that emphasize :
1)
Understanding of key foundation theories for visual perception and
communication
2)
